Skills Development Centre; Addressing the skills shortage in supply chain and logistics

The supply chain and logistics sector has faced significant challenges, particularly the shortage of skilled operators for electric walk-behind forklifts, electric pallet jacks, counterbalance forklifts, high reach forklifts and order pickers, as well as inventory/picking technology tools such as scanning and voice picking.

To tackle this, Programmed has established its Centres of Excellence – advance training facilities in Western Sydney and Melbourne. These centres, a first in the recruitment industry, offer state-of-the-art onsite training and assessments in full scale, replica warehouses.  Combining classroom essential knowledge and instruction with practical exercises, candidates receive hands-on experience tailored to real world demands.

Skilled For Success: Local Recovery Fund Training Programs

We are delighted to share that we have been successful in winning funding to continue to deliver Local Recovery Fund projects in 2024/25.

The Local Recovery Fund programs are designed with employers, Department of Employment, and Workplace Relations and are focusses on increasing workplace participation of underrepresented groups from Workforce Australia through training, work placement and post-placement support.

What is the Local Recovery Fund?

A federal government initiative, funds programs aimed at creating long-term employment pathways for disadvantaged Australians.

Provide a combination of accredited and non-accredited tailored training to the needs of specific industries and employers with funded post-placement support to further enhance retention and long-term outcomes.

Our programs have been tailored to many different cohorts such as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, women, youth, or simply people experiencing barriers to entering or securing long-term sustainable employment.

We support our candidates to:
