8 April 2025

Programmed has acquired RFM Offshore, a specialist in offshore drilling and marine crewing solutions – further strengthening its position as a leading provider of skilled personnel to the offshore energy sector.

This strategic move enhances the depth and range of support available to clients across the Asia-Pacific region, ensuring access to a larger, highly experienced and skilled workforce.

Further benefits of this acquisition include:

  • Enhanced service capabilities and onshore support
  • Combined management team with extensive operational and service delivery experience
  • Larger crewing database across a broader range of industries
  • Expanded regional coverage, helping navigate the challenges of offshore operations with confidence

Programmed Offshore CEO David Clay described the acquisition as a “natural fit”, reinforcing the benefits for the entire offshore industry.

“Bringing RFM Offshore into the Programmed family is a natural fit, strengthening our ability to deliver high quality, tailored workforce solutions across the onshore and offshore energy sector,” he said.

“Not only does this integration strengthen our service offering, but it also deepens our expertise – enabling us to provide even greater support to our clients, employees and the industry as a whole.

“This acquisition reinforces Programmed Offshore’s commitment to providing a workforce that is skilled for success, delivering reliable, high-quality solutions to offshore energy operators in an evolving market.”

Conor O’Brien, Managing Director of RFM Offshore, said: “After 17 incredible years, RFM Offshore is proud to take the next step in its journey by joining Programmed Offshore.”

“Built from the ground up with the commitment of our dedicated staff and offshore team, we’ve grown into a trusted provider of specialist crewing solutions – and this next chapter strengthens our ability to support clients and crew across APAC, as our combined experience will further extend our capabilities to deliver an even greater range of services and support.

“Special thanks to all the people that have supported us so far, including our staff, clients, offshore employees and vendors – it’s been a memorable 17 years, and we look forward to continuing this journey together as part of Programmed Offshore.”

It is anticipated this acquisition will take effect on 28 April 2025.
