Programmed made quite a splash at the WA Training Awards, with not one, but two of our school-based trainees nominated as finalists in the School-Based Apprentice of the Year category.

Held annually, the WA Training Awards recognise excellence in vocational education and training across Western Australia. This award acknowledges the success of Programmed’s National Energy Technician Training Scheme (NETTS) and the strong industry partnerships that have supported the program over the past decade.
Ameerah Tullock-Brierly and Lee Stimpson recently completed their 18-month school-based traineeships with Fortescue, each following a different career pathway. Ameerah undertook a traineeship in Workplace Skills (Administration), while Lee pursued a pathway in Engineering.
Programmed offers school-based apprenticeships and traineeships that provide Year 11 and Year 12 students with the opportunity to gain hands-on industry experience while working towards nationally recognised qualifications. Throughout their 18-month traineeships, Ameerah and Lee developed valuable skills, built confidence, and took important steps towards their future careers.
As part of the celebrations, Ameerah and Lee were also treated to a tour of Fortescue’s HIVE, an innovative autonomous and remote operations centre.

At Programmed, we’re passionate about creating pathways that help young people gain real-world experience and build successful careers. Seeing our trainees recognised on a state stage highlights the talent, dedication, and potential of young people across Western Australia. Congratulations to both Ameerah and Lee on their outstanding achievement!
