We are thrilled to announce that Programmed has secured two nominations at the 2026 Australian Training Awards. Our National Energy Electrical Training Scheme (NETTS) has been nominated for the Industry Collaboration Award, and our Santos National Apprenticeship Program has been nominated for Australian Apprentice Employer of the Year.
The Australian Training Awards are the peak national awards program celebrating excellence in Australia’s Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector. Established in 1994, the awards recognise outstanding apprentices, trainees, students, teachers, employers and registered training organisations across the country.
With only three finalists in each category, both programs have secured a place among the top three in the country. This is an incredible achievement and a real testament to the impact Programmed delivers nationally.
NETTS is a unique collaboration between Programmed and leading oil and gas organisations, designed to build a skilled, diverse and sustainable workforce for the future of the industry. Over four years, apprentices gain both classroom-based learning and hands-on experience across multiple host sites, creating a well-rounded pathway into the sector. Learn more about the scheme here.
For more than a decade, Santos and Programmed have built one of Australia’s most innovative apprenticeship and traineeship programs in the energy sector. The partnership is defined by a shared conviction: the apprentice is the priority, not a resource to be deployed operationally.
We are incredibly proud of both teams and the impact these programs continue to have on individuals, industry and communities across Australia. We wish all finalists the very best and look forward to celebrating the achievements of the VET sector at the 2026 Australian Training Awards. The awards ceremony will take place Friday the 20th of Novemeber in Sydney.
